On October 7th and 8th, 2026, Parts & Power, the authorized Northern Lights distributor for the Caribbean, hosted a two-day training course on Northern Lights marine generators. Led by Parts & Power instructor Gavin Dooley, the course brought together fleet technicians from Marine Max and Way Points, along with members of the Parts & Power team.
Hands-on Training for Fleet Technicians
Over the course, Gavin guided attendees through the 5-20 kW generator line with an emphasis on hands-on learning. Technicians worked directly with the equipment, building a deeper understanding of each component and how it functions. Attendees named this hands-on format as a valuable part of the course. When asked how the training would influence their work, one technician noted that their troubleshooting would become more precise and less time-consuming.

These practical skill sets are central to the training’s purpose. Gavin noted that training fleet technicians helps keep the cost of ownership down. A technician who understands the equipment can diagnose issues accurately and efficiently, keeping vessels in service. Over a generator’s service life, those savings give operators a strong reason to invest in reliable equipment from the start.
A Distributor Committed to Product and Service
Parts & Power has served the Caribbean since 1973 and is the region’s source for Northern Lights generators. Organizing a training of this scope requires investment of time and resources. By bringing customers and their technicians together for two days of instruction, Parts & Power demonstrated a commitment that extends well beyond the initial sale.
Having a qualified instructor on the Parts & Power team also ensures that this expertise remains in the region. Customers have direct access to local support whenever questions arise.
Northern Lights’ Commitment to Our Network
Northern Lights generators are designed for ease of maintenance and long service life. Equally important is the expertise of the people who install, service, and operate them. Northern Lights is committed to supporting its distributors, dealers, and customers with the training and resources they need to understand our products fully. We are proud to see Parts & Power take a leading role in delivering that training across the Caribbean.
Thank You
We extend our sincere thanks to Marine Max and Way Points for choosing Northern Lights and for investing in their technicians’ training. Their participation reflects a genuine commitment to maintaining their equipment to the highest standard.
We also thank Gavin Dooley and the entire Parts & Power team for organizing and leading this successful event.
